PM: First tests successful: sporttotal.tv cooperates with the Austrian football association

Cologne/Parndorf (Austria), 09 Oktober 2017.

sporttotal.tv gmbh, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sporttotal AG is on the verge of expanding into Austria: As part of its internationalisation, sporttotal.tv gmbh is testing the fully automated broadcasting of amateur league games on the sporttotal.tv streaming platform and on Fussballoesterreich.at, Austria’s largest football platform. With this goal in mind, sporttotal.tv has agreed a cooperation with the Austrian Football Association (ÖFB). sporttotal.tv will be presenting the technology to all regional league clubs in the coming weeks.

“A good, successful next step, now with much to follow in Austria. The cooperation agreed with the Austrian Football Association is a significant first case outside Germany. Here as well we will be integrating the premier leagues firmly into sporttotal.tv programs in the near future, always in close collaboration with the respective clubs,”

emphasises Peter Lauterbach, Sporttotal AG’s CEO.

First successful test in the regional league

Recently last Saturday, the match of SC/ESV Parndorf 1919 against SV Horn (2:5) in the “Regionalliga Ost”, Austria’s third tier football league, was broadcast both on sporttotal.tv and on Fussballoesterreich.at, Austria’s largest football platform. Alongside with this, the game of the second SC/ESV Parndorf 1919 team in the “Burgenlandliga” against SV Stegersbach (0:1) could also be viewed on the video platform. The installation and operation of sporttotal.tv is free for the clubs. After a one-year launch phase, the clubs’ membership of sporttotal.tv (€ 9.90 a month) will entitle them to participate in advertising revenue of 10 percent of all in-video proceeds. sporttotal.tv refinances itself via sponsoring and advertising.

Franz Hansbauer, Managing Director of Fussballoesterreich Vermarktungs GmbH (FOESV GmbH):

“sporttotal.tv got off to a very good start in Austria with the two tests in Parndorf.  This innovative solution will help us to lift football to a new media level. Clubs, associations and sporttotal.tv therefore have a great opportunity which we should not hesitate to seize to our mutual advantage.”

Internationalisation: Europe’s leading sport video platform

“We intend to make sporttotal.tv the leading European sports video platform, with the strongest reach and a market leader position by 2020. The demand from international associations and various different sports is big,” Peter Lauterbach says. sporttotal.tv is also very attractive to advertising partners: sporttotal.tv has signed a long-term contract with Hyundai as its automotive partner, for example. Allianz Deutschland AG, Deutsche Post AG, as well as Telekom Deutschland and BILD as the media partner already support the wholly-owned subsidiary of SPORTTOTAL AG as founding partners. An exclusive agreement with the Israeli company Pixellot has secured sporttotal.tv exclusive access to the world’s leading premium automated video technology. Following the successful conclusion of the pilot phase, sporttotal.tv entered into an exclusive 10-year contract in Germany with the German Football Association (DFB) to which all 21 national and five regional associations belong. An important part of the partnership is the cooperation with FUSSBALL.de, one of the largest amateur sport platforms in the world with more than three billion page impressions a year and a decisive reach multiplier for sporttotal.tv.
